borfast Posted January 5, 2003 Posted January 5, 2003 (edited) Hi everyone. I'm having a little problem with Interchange. Here's the whole story: Before the DNS changes had fully propagated, I accessed my website through http://66.246.43.132/~borfast/ and cPanel through http://66.246.43.132/~borfast/cpanel/ Everything was going fine except when I tried to install Interchange. Actually, the instalation went just fine but when I tried to access the admin interface of Interchange, it didn't work because it was using the address "http://borfast.com/~borfast/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/admin/index.html". Since borfast.com still pointed to my old server, I thought the problem was there. A couple of hours ago, borfast.com was already pointing to *****'s server so I went on and tried accessing Interchange admin interface once again but this time the error was the one on this thread's title. I already tried removing "~borfast" from the URL, making it only "http://borfast.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/admin/index.html" but it still doesn't work. Can someone explain to me what's wrong? Thanks in advance. Edited August 10, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote
KevinW Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 (edited) When I go to http://borfast.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/admin/index.html -- I get a Page cannot be found. I would suggest verifying (a) name/spelling, and ( permissions -kw Edited August 10, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote
borfast Posted January 7, 2003 Author Posted January 7, 2003 (edited) That's because I've given up waiting for an answer and simply deleted the damn thing from the server.... By the way, why doesn't Interchange have an uninstall option like Agora? It would be really nice to uninstall it by pushing a button, instead of having to delete every folder by hand... Lianna Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Wow, <5 hours is quick to give up. Sorry that you had this problem. I couldn't replicate it. We know that there is a difference in the script for Counter between implementation on propagated and unpropagated domains. I'm wondering if your interchage, set up before DNS prop was completed was the culprit. Again, sorry that you had this problem. If there is any other information that you can give us to successfully replicate the issue, it may help someone else...or you, if you'd still prefer to use Interchange. Lianna Quote
borfast Posted January 7, 2003 Author Posted January 7, 2003 (edited) It's not a big deal since I'm only playing around in order to learn how to work with it so when I come to need it I know what I'm doing. By the way, which one do you think it's best, Interchange or Agora? Anyway, I installed it once again and it's still in http://borfast.com/~borfast/cgi-bin/cart.c...cgi/blablabla... and it seems to be working just fine, now... but there's no /~borfast/ directory on my public_html folder... Also, is there a way to make it work under http://borfast.com/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/etc... ? Edited August 10, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote
Head Guru Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 (edited) TCH does not offer support for Interchange. Why? Its to buggy and we simply can not support it. And yes lstover you hit the nail on the head. If it was built before the domain propd then it will have to be rebuilt. Edited March 12, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote
borfast Posted January 8, 2003 Author Posted January 8, 2003 Then I suppose you sugest I'd use Agora? Quote
