rnmcd Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Is there an advantage of using a subdomain versus a 'subdirectory'? Also, where are the directories/files stored for subdomains? Are they stored 'above' the home directory? Thanks. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 A Subdomain is just a redirection setup by cpanel to the sub folder where the files are stored. The files are stored in a subfolder created by cpanel. Quote
GvilleRick Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 The advantage can be cosmetic. For example, you can get to these forums using http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/ or by using http://forums.totalchoicehosting.com. Another advantage is that you can check the stats of the subdomain in cPanel so that you could see the traffic more easily to a certain section of your site. Quote
earthwormjim Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Don't forget the ability to setup email accounts for subdomains. e.g. jim@sales.buysomething.tld Quote
