If anyone has access to a Mac would they mind terribly to take a peek at this test page?

Specifically the (almost) upper right search box and let me know if anything extraneous appears? It should just look like a regular search box but I've been told it is displaying the name and version of the script "RuterSearch MySQL Perl v3.5" viewed with a Mac.

Thanks.

Well. I'm amazed if I'm the only person around here with access to a Mac.

Anyway, I have a fairly old Mac running OS8.6. On IE5.2 your page looks fine. No script name or version appear. Just a search box.

Checking Netscape6 now ...

Looks fine there also.

I think you need someone else with a newer Mac to look.

But here's something: On my Windows machine using Mozilla Firebird, the search box is fine, but the scrolling lyric is shifted right so it occludes the 'add to favorites' link and part of the search box. The lyrics overlap by 2-3 characters.

IE6 on Windows is fine.

NS6 on Windows is fine.

Hope all this helps

Hi Jim, thanks for checking the search box. I will hopefully get some further feedback on that although I am not too terribly concerned as my stats say I'm only averaging 3% Mac OS for the past couple months.

Big thanks for telling me about the scroller. That's a new one (no java applet :D ) and though I usually check IE, NN, Mozilla and Opera I evidently did not check that time! Serves me right.

Thanks again!

Hey Ty, Just came from your site, outstanding. This is the first time I've really had enough time to sit down and look it over. One of the first songs I learned to play on my guitar was TOMBSTONE SHADOW by CCR. I have not been able to remember the lyrics for a long time. I found them on your site. Wanted to say Thanks.

I'm using a Mac 9.2 with Netscape 7.02. Your Search box looks fine. None of the problems you stated appear. Nice work!

Actually, Ty, the scroller is still shifted to the right in Mozilla.

Any other Mozilla users out there experiencing this? Or is it just me?

Yes, same for me using Mozilla.

Now that's wierd! I DID fix it last night and I just looked at source and it's back the way it was. Just changed it on my local copy, uploaded via ftp and it still didn't change. So I edited in Cpanel so at this very moment in time it's ok again.

I wonder if I got gremlins?! Naughty

I just checked it again, and it's fine now.

I had the same problem with a site not updating the other day. Turns out I had my ftp upload for that site set to the old server8 ip address. So the upload went fine -- to the old address.

Anyway, thanks for keeping up with this. The site looks great! Thumbs Up

Thank YOU! :D

Certainly there is little excuse to not make reasonable effort to make ones site perform well in major browsers. I could go into a major tirade (tyrade?) about huge companies not even bothering but I'll save that for another page!

I looked from my laptop - running Mac OS 9.2 and IE - and it looked fine, and then I instant messaged my hubby across the room, and he looked from a Mac OSX on the Safari browser, and it looked perfect too.

Ok, It's happening again. The code for that page in question has reverted back to the original, all by itself. (scroller shifted all the way to right in Mozilla) This is the 3rd time I've gone back and fixed it. Is a simple fix, just changing one table property does it but......

Some sort of a server caching problem?

Fortunately this is only a test page but I was about to make it go live. Been like that on the current live page too, I just didn't realize it
