Changing Password In Cpanel

Has anyone else had issues changing passwords in CPanel? The past few days I get an error "Unable to write to the password file." (or close to that) whenever I try to update it.

There is a ticket open already, however i'd like to know if other users are having problems on their accounts as well. I can't believe that the issue of not being able to change your own password would exist for more than five days.

what password are you trying to change? You can't change your cPanel password. Are you talking about mail passwords?

Hmm, Paul there is a big icon (3rd icon top row) on the X-Theme cPanel interface that's labeled Change Password. Yes, you can change your cPanel password.

As Thomas mentioned, you should contact the Help Desk as it appears there is a problem with the account. You should be able to change the password in cPanel under the Change Password option. I just changed the password on one of my accounts and it worked fine after I chose one that was not too short, not based on a dictionary word, etc. I'm not sure what you mean by the problem existing five days. If you submitted a ticket you should receive a response fairly quickly. Any problem can last five days if it is not reported.
