I have read the information on this in my welcome letter and watched the super movie tutorial.

Still confoozed,

I thought I would like to use Thunderbird, as I use Firefox and Filezilla.

The movie tutorial says" This tutorial assumes you've already created your new email account in your web hosting account ... typically through your hosting control panel"

In my case this is a BAD assumption!

Questions

1. Can you point me to something which tells me how to

create my new email account in my web hosting account ... through my hosting control panel

2. Do I download this to my home computer?

3. Do I then put it somewhere in my domain?

1. To create an email account in cPanel follow this movie tutorial

2. No, you don't download this to your computer.

3. No, you don't put it somewhere in your domain.

You first create an email address. Then you can access that email address either with an email client or webmail.

Thank you, that is a wonderful tutorial, I couldn't find any mention of it in search at all.

Isn't Thunderbird an email client?

Don't I have to download it to my computer to use it?

After mighty effort and with help from Don & Bruce I have email. The frustrating parts were that the password required the first time you mail is the Cpanel password NOT the password you set up with the email account, and the outgoing server setting only seems to work if you input your TCH username@******

So, if I might make a wee suggestion?

On the tutorial 'Thunderbird Setup' the addition of one sentence would probably save future users of the tutorial immense frustration.

Where it says

First time you pop email you will be prompted for your password
add which password is wanted.

Hi Henrietta,

To POP the email you should use the full email account (user@yourtchdomain.com) and the password for that email account. It should not be the cpanel one (unless you are using the cpanel username )
