ivanmax Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Hi everybody, Would anybody be so kind as to tell me why I can´t see the image in the index page of my site? www.artepolaroid.com Also...how can I see the files inside the public_html folder? Why can I browse www.artepolaroid.com/public_html? Thanks a lot, Iván Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Have you uploaded the images to the folder "images" that your source code refers to? As for seeing the images inside your public_html, you should be able to see it by entering your domain name first, example: artepolaroid.com/images/example.jpg, artepolaroid.com/example/gif, artepolaroid.com/example.pdf and so on. ivanmax Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Hi, Thanks for answering me so quickly. The images are uploaded in the image folder Also isn´t it possible to see the files inside the public_html folder in my browser? I have another site and I can see them without any problem. Thanks a lot, Iván Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Sorry, I missunderstood you. You can try http://your'>http://your'>http://your servers ip number/~your username/ and http://your servers ip number/~your username/subfolder/ I am not sure if this works if you have an index page in your public_html. If so, you would need to enter something like: http://your servers ip number/~your username/image.jpg and so on. Quote
ivanmax Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Problem solved thanks. www.artepolaroid.com Could anybody tell me how I can do the links? I mean if I want to link "English" to the first page of the site how can I find out the address to that page? Thanks, Iván Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 You would create an English page and a Spanish page. Then you would use code similar to this ><a href="english.html">English</a> and <a href="spanish.html">Spanish</a> Quote
ivanmax Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Thanks. I already have created those pages. The one to which the link "english" I would like to take the page user is in a folder called "principal_uno_images" which is in the public_html folder of my site. However how can´t I get that "address" quickly? I did another page last year and I was able to see the folders and files from my browser. I can´t do that now and I don´t know why. In that way I could see the full address of each page. You would create an English page and a Spanish page. Then you would use code similar to this ><a href="english.html">English</a> and <a href="spanish.html">Spanish</a> Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 ><a href="/principal_uno_images">English</a> or <a href="http://youdomain.ext/principal_uno_images">English</a> Quote
Deverill Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Also isn´t it possible to see the files inside the public_html folder in my browser? Hi Iván, When you go to http://www.yourtchsite.com/public_html the web server looks for certain default index pages and if it sees any of them your browser will display that page instead of the files in that folder. Some of the default names are index.htm index.html default.htm default.html etc. If you rename that main page then you should be able to see the files in the folder, but so can everyone else so if you have some files there you don't want people to know about this is a bad idea. If it is just the pages to your website then it won't hurt to do this while you are working on it. Quote
