sp00nk Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 (edited) Hey TCH, and all the TCH users family! Good morning! I would like to speed up my website. I'm not even quite sure what it is that slows down the loading time, but certain pages are incredibly slow (5-7 seconds just to load). This is, of course, quite a big annoyance, as the website was recently redesigned and reprogrammed. I've sent an email to the design department of TCH, asking for a price quote, but then it bounced back, saying the email address cannot be verified or something to that extent. So, I'm asking about this in the forums, maybe a design team doesn't even have to get involved here, and some nice people would share their knowledge here on forum. The new version of the website is available here: Tzitut.com new browse in some of the categories of the dynamic menu on the top to get a whiff of the slowness. I know the website is in hebrew, but you don't mind, right?... Thank you for your time, -Dan Luria. Edited December 24, 2006 by sp00nk Quote
TCH-Andy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Hi Dan, Have a look at http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/index.html it looks like your biggest problem is the number of images. Quote
PeterPeter Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The main culprit for slow webpages is images, exactly as Andy said. Try saving the images as gif files or if you use photoshop, you can change the level down from say 10 to 6 for jpgs. Use save for web as well, that gives you a greater choice as well. Quote
