Hello all,

I just joined TCH not too long ago and they've been awsome so far. I just had a question about setting up an e-mail account with a client. I've set up my account on Cpanel and everything works fine. When I set up my client to receive e-mail from there, the receiving part goes perfect. However it seems that I can't send e-mail with the server mail.mysite.ca. It just tells me the server is unavailable.

Now I know my ISP is fine w/ port 25 because I send out my gmail mail from Mail (I'm using OS X on a Macbook). I have two other accounts there that also work fine with sending and receiving. But this one just won't. Any suggestions or ideas?!

Thanks so much!!!!!!

Welcome to the forums harlequin :)

On your email client under the server tab

did you check My Server Requires Authentification?

And did you check for new email first before sending?

Under the Authentication tab I have Password selected. Also, if I check to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) in my outgoing mail server settings tab, then it tells me

"Unable to verify SSL server mail.mysite.ca

Mail was unable to verify the identify of this server, which has a certificate issued to "server373.******.com." The error was:

The root certificate cannot be verified.

You might be attemptiong to connect to a computer that is pretending to be "mail.mysite.ca" and putting your confidential info at risk."

cheers

Hi harlequin, welcome to the forms.

This link should help to resolve your issues. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id27.htm

With SSL you need to change the sockets for it to work correctly. See this link http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id94.htm

If you continue to have the problem please lodge a support ticket https://ssl.totalchoicehosting.com/supportdesk/

Welcome to the forums harlequin :)

To use SSL you should be able to use your domain name but you will receive a warning each time you try to pop your mail. You can set the name sever to the server you are on to eliminate the warning. Using port 995 for incoming and 465 for outgoing.

Also you need to enter your full email address for the login and also authenticate with the password you have set for the account.
