kathleen Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Hi, I'd been having some problems with my site (plugins disappeared etc) but TCH got that going again, great guys. Now I'm on a new server. Since the switch, I'm not getting email notifications of new comments. None of my settings have changed in the UI. I have a good address in my mt-config.cgi. MT suggests: Check sendmail Path If you have followed these procedures and notification emails are still not being sent, see if you need to change the path setting in mt-config.cgi2 for the sendmail program on your server: # By default, Movable Type looks for sendmail in three locations: # /usr/lib/sendmail, /usr/sbin/sendmail, and /usr/ucblib/sendmail. # If your sendmail is in a different location, you can adjust the # SendMailPath configuration setting. # # SendMailPath /usr/sbin/sendmail You may need to ask your host for the proper path to sendmail, so you can enter it into the section shown above. Remember to uncomment the setting3. Then save mt-config.cgi and upload it back to your server in ASCII mode. If this still does not resolve the problem, check with your host to make sure sendmail is working properly on your server. So having done all as suggested, my question is how to make sure the sendmail on the server is working properly. Thanks Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Can you send an email from your account? If so mail is working. If not open a ticket with the help desk. And have you checked the path in mt-config.cgi2 Quote
kathleen Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 And have you checked the path in mt-config.cgi2 Hi Bruce. The "2"at the end of mt-config.cgi2, is a footnote. This is not a valid filename. The page I'm referencing is here. Footnote 2 says: 2 In versions prior to 3.2, the configuration file is named mt.cfg. I'm running 3.33 I sent two messages from my account and neither went through. I'll get with support. Thanks! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Yep, help desk will get it sorted out. Quote
