Mrs. Muddled Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I have installed Dreamweaver and Fireworks. All of a sudden the Fireworks icon is on all my photos. I don't want that. Yes, if I right click on files where this icon appears it gives me the option of switching to Picture It Publishing etc. How do I stop Fireworks from making itself default. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 That's the problem with most image programs, they want to control your viewing to use their programs. You should be able to hold down the shift key and right click on an image file and select Open With... That will bring up a list of programs on your machine you can use to open the image with. Select the program you want to use and check the checkbox to "Always use this program" below the list. Quote
Mrs. Muddled Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Yes Bruce, I have been doing that. I can force it over to MS Picture It Publishing .... BUT ... I don't want Fireworks to be the default and I can't figure out how to change it. Quote
Kaula Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Yes Bruce, I have been doing that. I can force it over to MS Picture It Publishing .... BUT ... I don't want Fireworks to be the default and I can't figure out how to change it. right click on the image and goto properties, on the general tab theres an "open with" section that lets you select the default program, I normally have all my pictures open with the "windows picture and fax viewer" Quote
