Hi all,

 

I'm new to this forum.

 

What Broght me here was a problem with joomla. For some reason when I try to upload a new template into it it kicks me out to an error message that reads:

 

Upload template - Failed

File /home/myaccount/public_html/blog/media/install_44f4b19880587/index.php does not exist!

 

any ideas?

 

I appriciate any help.

I don't use joomla so I am not sure what you need to do. The error indicates that the index.php file does not exist in that directory path.

Aha! while trolling around on the web I was able to find the solution. Just in case anyone else runs into this problem, here it is:

 

 

It seems that the zip utility on the mac is not very clean. By default it includes ".ds_store" files in the archives. I guess it has something to do with the way that it reads its directories. These extraneous files confuse joomla and render the template invalid.

 

I got around this problem using an app called "Clean Archiver" to create the zipped up templates.

 

Problem solved. I hope that i have helped someone.

Welcome to the forum Mike. Thats an excellant find, well done! For a windows user, it often means a compleletley differenet meaning that the XML loader file is missing.
