makaveli Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Mhmm, theme park world i wanted the original but hey ho, world was all they had, installed it, everything looked fine, i was playing on it, all is fine, until i decide to check the net emails and that type of stuff so i close the game, restart it later and when it loads it simply freeses at about 5% on the load bar and screen goes black as midnight, then oh, im back to the desktop. thing is i dont not understand why it is doing this, its a 1999 release so specs are min 200mhz, win 95+, 4x CD, 32m RAM,Direct x 6.1 and a 4mb graphics card to which my pc is at least 10x the minimum! i've tried installing the provided Patch, nope, still doesnt like me, installed, restarted, uninstalled re-started, (and on and on and on... to no avail) does any one know what could cause it to hang up? i like this game (from what little i've played) Quote
TCH-JimE Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Strange, I don't know why Have you tried reinstalling it? If you have the original disk, can I suggest trying a no-cd patch after install. Some of these actually can be very useful if having problems loading the game JimE Quote

TCH-JimE Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Hello, Now this doesn't make sense, but its not supposed to be played on win95! Q) Can I run Theme Park through Windows 95/98 ? A) Theme Park was originally released in 1994, before the release of Windows 95/98. This means that it may not work correctly if it is running at the same time as Windows 95/98. As with all DOS-Based games we advise you to shut your PC down into DOS from the START>SHUT DOWN menu of Windows 95/98. In this mode the game will not have any conflicts with Windows 95/98 running at the same time. If shutting your PC down into DOS does not allow you to run the game there must be a problem with the configuration of that DOS mode or a lack of DOS drivers running. For a CD game like Theme Park to run in DOS it needs to use your DOS CDROM, Mouse and Soundcard drivers. If these are not loading automatically then you will need to load them yourself. The DOS MODE ICON instructions from AUTOHELP will help you configure a DOS mode manually. Q) Theme Park crashes straight away ! A) Check that you are running in DOS, rather than Windows 95, see above. If you have Windows 3.1 you may need to create a DOS boot disk, as described in the games manual, to fully configure DOS for this game. Theme Park can not use EMS memory and if you have EMM386 running in your configuration this problem is likely to occur. If there are still problems check the NO SOUND question below. Link is here: h**p://themeworld.simgames.net/park/ So trying playing it in dos, it seems to work then. JimE Quote
