New Site Has Trouble

The problem is that this frontpage site "hospicecaring.org" has just been transferred via DNS last night. At this point when you go to http://www.hospicecaring.org you are greeted with a cpanel login! If you cancel it three times it disappears...but I don't think that is the best welcome. I am stumped about why this might be happening and would appreciate any feedback you might have about how to remove it. Some of the images on that site also seem unavailable.

 

I removed the frontpage extensions thinking that they may be the culprit in this. After removing them it still sent you to the cpanel sign-in dialog box.

 

Any help would be great appreciated.

Hi,

 

If you cancel the CPANEL you will notice the images then load before being again asked to log into cpanel.

 

This is because the folder containing the pictures has been locked, and each time you call an image, it requires you to log into cpanel to unlock it. It could also be that the htaccess file needs looking at.

 

Please either start a help ticket, or PM Jimuni or AndyB or Rick with your cpanel login detials and we shall sort it for you

Hi, Auder,

 

I took a quick look at your web page. The CPanel login form is coming up when the page tries to display some of the graphics, for instance, the large graphic at the top of your page (hospice4.gif). The graphic doesn't show up, so when I did a "Show Picture" in Internet Explorer for that graphic, the login dialog box to CPanel was displayed. This is also true for some of the other missing pictures.

 

I took a look at your page source code for that part. For many, if not all, of the pictures, the code is similar to the following (it looks like you are using FrontPage or something; I'm not familiar with the web page development programs):

The address of 216.180.225.178:2082 is the address of your Cpanel page. Thus, when I tried to access that graphic, it tried to get it from a subdirectory (whether it exists or not ) of your CPanel page, and, since that page is password protected, it asked me for the password. I'm going to guess that you may have specified this address somehow in the setup of your web page generator program. Looking at that URL, I'll guess that what you may want to specify might be something more along the lines of src="/images/hospice4.gif".

 

Others more familiar with the web page creation programs may be able to pinpoint it more specifically. (The generator meta content info is "MSHTML 6.00.2800.1170".)

Singer has hit upon it, the image your calling calls it via the cpanel.

 

Therefore you need to change these.

I do appreciate you both and your help with this.

 

I am curious Jimuni, what did you change to alter all of the image's path? I am also dumbfounded about how they may have gotten that way in the first place. My guess is that the frontpage extensions are a likely suspect....

I just copied your page into notepad and replaced all the links which pointed to the wrong image.

 

Sometimes replace is very useful in notepad!
