Geosword Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Help! I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't seem to get my mailbox to clear out. I have checked my mail and deleted stuff from my main e-mail but it never seems to actually dump the stuff.. My mailbox keeps getting full and I don't know how to make it delete the mail out. I have to keep increasing my quota so I can get my mail! What am I doing wrong? Quote
TCH-Carl Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Please post a ticket to the support department (link above) with the details of the email account in question. We will check it out. Mods here do not have access to servers. Quote
TCH-Alex Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Please check the following things before you are posting the ticket. 1. Check the catchall account, by default it should be the main account. Because of this all the unrouted mails will come to the main email account. You can avoid this by setting the Default address (catchall address) in CPanel to :fail: (with colons at the beginning and end) so that e-mail not addressed to an account you have set up is refused. 2. Check whether you have turned on SpamAssassin and SpamBox. If Yes, please clear the spam box on regular intervals using the SpamAssassin page in cPanel. Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 How are you checking? web mail or an email program on your computer? If on your computer, do you have "leave a copy on the server" checked in the settings? If web mail, do you delete and then empty the trash or whatever its called in your web mail? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I don´t remember if Squirrel mail have the feature but in Horde you will also need to click the purge... link to actually delete the mail (if you haven´t already), otherwise it will still be there. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Hello, Thomas hits on the same problem I first experieced when using horde, you actually have to purge the deleted mail from the deleted area. JimE Quote

My Spam box was stuffed to the gill. I did not realize it was on. I don't recall having turned it on. But I told it to clear and got the entire quota back, totally empty. I have also set the catch alls to :fail: Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone! Quote
