makaveli Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 i have a small gallery, and now when i try to go on it i see the message Fatal error : thats all, what could this mean, as the stupid thing isnt giving me a lot of info Quote
makaveli Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 only have things such as file does not exist: /home/mdukdzix/public_html/rob/404.shtml nothing to do with /gallery in my site all cpanel is green too. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Well, there is not enough information to diagnose what the error is. I would open a help desk ticket and see if the techs can help. Quote
makaveli Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 yeh could of had a go myself if cpanel provided more info but.. it did not.. help desk it is then! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 You can also check out the coppermine forums at: http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/ and see if someone there knows. Quote
makaveli Posted June 18, 2006 Author Posted June 18, 2006 all is fixed via a swift visit to the help desk. Quote
makaveli Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 Sorry to double post, maybe this needs to be moved again as its not a code issue but a firefox one, i get fatal error : in FF but its fine for a little while then breaks again, its sweet in Opera and broken in IE. so is it a cookie problem or cache.. its a bit annoying. as its a pain if i wanna share photos having to clear my cookies and whatnot Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Have you tried clearing your cache and deleting the cookie? Quote
makaveli Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 yep, i cleared cache and deleted just my sites cookie. its working now.. but im expecting as things fill up it will drop dead again. we'll soon see. il try it in IE and FF for a few hours, surf around and come back. i have not modified coppermine in any way so its baffled me. like i say ill play a waiting game and see if it breaks on me again. ive opened my blog so if i review somthing it can be bought by media, and also my photos can be sold. so im hoping it all sorts Quote
LF from MC Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Just wondering makaveli, do you have the latest version? Not sure what it is, but that's what they told me at the coppermine Forum that I had to do, because I can't delete a few albums. (haven't done it yet though). Quote
makaveli Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) right thats it i think i have been exploited by some idiot hacker or somthing i try to admin login and get directed to http://www.yoursite.com/board/login.php?redirect=../gallery/ ^ thats actually what my address bar says! its a spammy page offering web hosting their "store home" URL is apparently https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/rhp/def...1905&se=%2B what is a direct link to my admin panel so i can sort this, i also want to find out where this code was launched from and possible take further action upon this as i will not tolerate anyone interfering with my personal space that i do not grant permission to edit - tried /admin.php and i dont have permission to do this. apparently. and to login i have to press "login" but obv that site comes on Edited June 24, 2006 by TCH-Don Quote
LF from MC Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 makaveli, have you tried there Forum? ---> Coppermine Quote
makaveli Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 im lookin and im lost so its another help desk issue.. bet theyre sick of me this week. i cant login to admin any way cause of this silly spam page. ill upload it so you can see what it is and see if anyone else has seen it for reference. the help desk are assigned to it, i sent an email Quote
LF from MC Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I hope they can help you makaveli, it looks like you have been hijacked. Quote
makaveli Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 if user support can do anything i want this company reported or the details so i can set action myself (not as a return attack, but trace and reporting) its not like my site gets hits much besides freinds checking my photos. the Team are on the case and i have every faith in them solving or at least finding my problem, as theyre a good bunch. TCH-Thomas Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I would immediately report this to the help desk to see what they can do. Then, assuming you still have access to your ftp, go to copperminefolder > albums and download every subfolder and photos from that folder. Or ask the help desk if they have a current backup. Then, if ok by the help desk (they might need coppermine still online for investigation or something), remove the copperminefolder and the database, then rebuild everything wih a secure password. TCH-Thomas Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I have removed the attached image. The url was visible in the image and there is no reason to feed the spammers etc. Quote
makaveli Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 no probs on the 2 edits but yeah thanks for the advice ill download my images ive uploaded then, rebuild coppermine. paying speciall attention to CHMOD values. ona quick sidenote, coppermine.. is that the best or in fantastico is there similar better one i should use/ Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 I have tried Coppermine and Gallery. Personally I would use Coppermine because its simple and comes with many functions you need to download separately if using gallery. But if you don´t mind downloading extra stuff and install them, try for gallery too. I guess that didn´t get you less confused over what to use though. A sidenote on Coppermine. If you installed it through fantastico, then update to the latest version, 1.4.8, because the fantastico version is currently 1.4.2 which contain one or several security bugs as I understand. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Did you miss critical updates to prevent being hacked? No script is secure from being hacked but keeping it up to date helps. Quote
Gail Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 As far as Coppermine vs. Gallery, I much prefer Coppermine. I have done a few updates to each and I always find Gallery a pain to update; in fact, because I only have a few photos in Gallery for demonstration purpose, (I am talking about Gallery 2 - Gallery 1 is pretty much fading into the night I think), I end up installing the new version and starting over. I can never follow their update instructions nor can a friend of mine who understands php scripts much more than I do. As a rule, I find Coppermine easier to update. Just something to keep in mind as you will find it necessary to update either script from time to time. Gail Quote
makaveli Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 i think my best idea will be to manualy install the CM software as oppsed to cpanel/fantastico. as long as i backup my data all should be well Quote
