wampthing Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Google has come out with their Picasa Web Albums. You can get up to 6 gigs of space for $25/year. There is 250 megs for free. It looks like you can share your albums if you want, and not share if you dont want. I wonder if this might be a solution to having an off site storage for all of my photos. It'll be fun to see. (I have tried the Picasa program, but never fell in love with it. I keep uninstalling it.) Quote
marie b. Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 This sounds exactly like Flickr, which is odd. I would think that they'd come up with something original. Quote
LF from MC Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 This must be something different then the Picasa2 orginizer that I have, which finds all the images on your computer, even the ones you forgot you had. I like this one a lot. The Picasa Web Albums, must be something more like Copermine, and Gallery. I just might have to check this one out. Thanks wampthing. Lorraine Quote
TCH-Don Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I signed up just to see what its like. Thanks Dave Quote
nortk Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I just downloaded the new Picasa and tried out the albums feature. The new Picasa seems very much like the old, except that there is an option to sign in and send items to your "Web Albums". The album uploading works very smoothly. The online web albums are housed at picasaweb.google.com/username (my username is norm.krumpe) Quote
