ramone_kalsaw Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I just unboxed and turned on my brand new Core Duo iMac and much to my horror, the fan on this thing sounds like a jet engine I recently worked on an iMAC G5 and it was quiet like a whisper, and my old iMAC still runs essentially silent. Question: Is there something about the Core Duo that makes it run loud, or do I have a lemon? Thanks! Quote
ramone_kalsaw Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 I’m also noticing that on this 20 inch screen, at various resolutions, the screen fonts are consistently washed out and somewhat jaggie. Is this a settings issues or this Apple an absolute Lemon??? What a drag—I was prime for an out-of-the-box WOW experience ... my Dell laptop is lookin’ REAL GOOD right now ... Thanks! Quote

kellybellydotnet Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Well, I barely ever hear the fan on my new-ish 20" Intel iMac... but then again that could be because the fan on my G4 Powerbook is drowning it out! It sounds like you may have got a lemon ... have you run System Update yet? Quote
