com693 Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Having a problem in Horde. Looks like it was updated recently, as more buttons have appeared, etc. Signs of an upgrade. However, with this upgrade ... I cannot view my address book anymore. When I click on address book, either in the upper bar or the side bar, it brings up an address book search instead of the overall listing. I went into address book options and even set the default display to show the entire listing, and the search still comes up. Experiencing this problem with more than one account on Horde. Thoughts? TCH-Bruce Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I don't use Horde so I can't answer. Maybe one of our other customers that use Horde can comment. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 In Horde select Options. From that panel select Default Display. In the drop down select Address Book Listing. Save changes. Quote
com693 Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 (edited) And when I try to delete people, I get the error "There are no browseable address books." Ooh this upgrade sucks! It was hard enough getting it to import - it has problems doing comma separated values, had to do tab separated ... and this was exporting from horde on one account and importing on horde to another account. TCH-Bruce Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Sorry, as I said before I don't use Horde or any other webmail client. I use Thunderbird for email. TCH does not control the upgrades that cPanel releases. If there is a problem cPanel would be the ones that would have to release a fix. If you are still having problems please open a ticket with the help desk. Link at top of page or in my signature. Quote

josquin Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I have the same problem: Horde puts me in Search mode, even though I've specified Browse mode as the default. And if I try to delete an entry in the Address Book, I get "No browseable address books". I submitted a ticket, but the response was a screen print showing that Horde was working fine -- using Opera 8.54 as the browser. The browsers I use are IE and Firefox. How did Tech Support respond to your ticket? Did they resolve the problem? Quote
com693 Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Support says it is a problem with cPanel ... and since cPanel is managed by cPanel and not TCH, TCH has no control over anything. They said cPanel is aware of the problem and will fix it in their next update. That to me is rediculous. We should be able to revert back to an older version that works. I emailed the Head Guru, Bill Kish, but I haven't gotten a response from him ... don't expect that I will either. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Well, since each cpanel is server wide it would effect all users on that server. If it´s reverted to an earlier version, perhaps there is something else that breaks for someone else and then we are back to step one but with another problem. Better to wait out cpanel I would say. I am no tech, so its just a guess from my side. Quote
TCH-Tim Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 There are many security and bug fixes included with each cPanel release for all of the various utilities and scripts that come with it. I am sorry that the Horde address book is giving you problems, but reverting back to an older version of cPanel would most certainly do more harm than good. Quote
abinidi Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Personally, I've never liked any of the e-mail applications provided by cPanel, so I don't use them. On some of my sites, I've set up Google Hosted, so I get Gmail accounts on my domain. Other sites I forward to a different web-based email account with an interface I like better. Still other sites/accounts I POP into a local e-mail client like Thunderbird or Outlook Express or The Bat!. Horde isn't your only option, if you don't like it. I didn't like it, so I found options I liked better. Maybe it is time for you to start investigating some of these for your own use. Best wishes. Quote
