There are millions of companies on the net who advertise themselves to be the perfect web company, but only few of them are REALLY proficient web hosting companies. In the world of advertising tactics and gimmicks, few good companies get overshadowed by the rest. There is no sure shot way to determine the perfect web hosting company .

Try to scan their websites, their web content, and their site layout.

 

Compare between the hosting company websites, their features, analyze their costs read their content and then decide which is the best hosting company.

 

Try to get the opinions of the hosting company you choose from various acquaintance, business associates, friends etc.

 

While searching for a good hosting company, look for a clean, uncluttered and organized website. Every information should be layered in user-friendly and easy interface.

Drop A Ticket: The web hosting company looks good and reasonably priced but what about their service, their response time ? If they respond fast with satisfactory solution, you have found a reliable web hosting company.

 

If vailable , go on a free trial: The final test which will determine the reliability of the hosting company.

Bandwidth problems: Some hosting companies support unlimited bandwidth, but for large amount don’t just go for unlimited, fix a bandwidth as per your need as to avoid conflict if any.

 

Do they help you grow: Your website may be small now, but it may grow tomorrow Clarify these details how they are going to help you when you expand in future.

No such thing. They'll find a reason to shut you down if you use too much.

 

Good rule of thumb is that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Outrageous disk space and bandwidth numbers are all the rage these days, but that's not even half the battle of web hosting. What's under the hood of the server, what quality bandwidth are you getting, how good are the datacenters, how is the service, and so on.

The old adage "You get what you pay for" I've found is certainly true in the web hosting business. That's what lead me to TCH. Very competative pricing, but the main reason was the rock-solid performance and support. I think you'll have a hard time finding a company that will beat this one!

I know what you are getting at, Steve, but I disagree.

 

Here at TCH we get MUCH more than we could ever pay for!

 

One thing you can do is to put the name of the hosting company into Google (in quotes if there are multiple words) and see if there are folks ranting about them (good or bad). Every company has a few people unhappy but if you start to see complaints about downtime or bad support and it's more than just a few guys that are being babys about it then you may wish to consider another host. Don't take every one at face value because some people won't be happy no matter what they do, but if it's a pattern be careful.

Just in case anyone else if following this thread, I was referring to the "el cheapo" hosting companies out there that promise a lot a deliver very little.
