kahill Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 (edited) The extensions are enabled for FrontPage on a clients domain. He is running FP 2000 When trying to access his site to update files I had previously uploaded for him via Dreamweaver, he gets: 406 Not Acceptable Not Acceptable An appropriate representation of the requested resource /_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe could not be found on this server. Apache/1.3.34 Server at www.mysite.com Port 80 HELP PLEASE. He is supposed to be doing his own work and is constantly calling me about this. I do not and never have used Front Page so I'm not able to give him any clues. Edited May 27, 2006 by TCH-Bruce Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Try uninstalling and reinstalling the extensions. Please make note of what's in the .htaccess file before doing so in case you need to add anything back into it. If that doesn't work I would open a ticket with the help desk and report this. TCH-Don Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 From a search of this forum I found from TCH-Alex. Just add the following line in .htaccess file in your public_html folder SecFilterEngine Off Quote
kahill Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 (edited) From a search of this forum I found from TCH-Alex. I copied everything over for him and uninstalled / reinstalled the extensions. I'm not going to do anything with the files - since I don't have Frontpage. I'm waiting to hear back from him. I will however, put the line in the .htaccess file mentioned in the above post. Thanks for all the help - hopefully this will fix him up. One question .......... The .htaccess in public_html has the followiing: # -FrontPage- IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti* <Limit GET POST> order deny, allow deny from all allow from all </Limit> <Limit PUT DELETE> order deny, allow deny from all </Limit> AuthName www.mysite.com AuthUserFile /home/mysite/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.pwd AuthGroupFile /home/mysite/public_html/_vti_pvt/service.grp Do I just add the next line under what is already there?
