john Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I looked at the .htaccess tutorial and i'm still not sure how to accomplish what i need to do. Here's what i currently have: - Domain abc.net hosted at TCH and registered at TCH and the DNS pointing to TCH - Domain abc.com is registered elsewhere and the DNS is pointing to TCH and TCH has the abc.com parked over abc.net - abc.net & abc.com point to the same "site" which is our retail store (actionhobby.net & actionhobby.com are the "real" url's). Here's what i need to do: - Have abc.net & abc.com go to another ISP that hosts our "new" online store. - Create a subdomain like "retail.abc.com" & "retail.abc.net" to go tho TCH and point to our current site. - There will be a link on our new online store to go to "retail.abc.com" - Of course i need the URL in the browser to remain as a "real" URL, no funky numbers. I'm not sure if i have to change the DNS for abc.com & abc.net to point to the new ISP for our new store or if this can all be done in .htaccess. If i do have to change the DNS, how do i get "retail.abc.com" to come back to TCH? Sorry but the above is making my brain squirm like a toad. Thanks. I'm sorry if i'm not clear on what i need to do. TCH-JimE Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Hello John, You will need to submit a help desk ticket for this one and they can give you the correct technical answer. You will also need to get the new ISP to also allow it too. As a side point, can TCH not host your online store here? That would make things much easier! With regards to making a link, thats easy enough. JimE Quote
john Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 JimE - I wish the store could be hosted at TCH, i have nothing but praises for TCH. It ha$ to be on their servers though (Volusion). Quote
