McCrockett Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 (edited) Hey everybody: I just set up my site on TCH and it's working great!! However, one small question: I noticed that if I send an email to MyName@domain.com (this isn't real, obviously) I never seem to get the emails. I went into Cpanel and changed the default email address to my traditional hotmail account, but still... nothing sent to my domain seems to get to me. What am I missing? TCH-Bruce Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 If you set your default to your hotmail account I would expect it to go there. Did you check your trash and spam folders? Also, you would probably want to set the default for the account to be :fail: This way you don't get email sent to your domain that you don't have an email address or forward set up. Quote

I also set up forwarders for 2 different email accounts and neither of them seem to be forwarding anything. I checked my trash, spam, and every other folder in my hotmail account and the test emails don't seem to be arriving anywhere. Question: usually how long does cpanel take to forward something? Anyhow, I get the feeling I'm probably forgetting something very small, and hence the problem. I will run through the tutorials again later. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Do you have an ISP email account? Forward them there to test that it is not a hotmail problem. I forward to my gmail account all the time without problems and it is instant when you set it up. The next message will be forwarded. Quote

McCrockett Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Propagated? Hmmm, I'm not sure I know what that means. However, I don't think I need the gurus to check it out. I just tried forwarding some emails to a gmail account and it works perfectly... I've always suspected bad things of Hotmail. Anyhow, I talked with my business partner and I think we'll be okay just using Horde mail through Cpanel (or the Squirrel one). Thanks anyways everybody!! PS - Hopefully, I will soon have all my inventory photographed and the site ready to go live. Is it okay to post a link to the site if I want to show it to everybody? Quote
