unielco Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Hello, I have had a site up on TCH for more than a year now and I must say what a great place this is. I have been having a problem with OE Express 6 for a while now and I have searched the net and microsoft for an answer and haven't found a good one yet. I thought I would run it by you folks as you seem so knowledgeable. After Outlook Express has been running for a while the toolbar begins expanding until several icons have moved off the page to the right. Have any of you experienced this. It is getting a little annoying having to restart Express several times a day. Thanks Ron Quote
TCH-Andy Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Hi Ron, That does sound a little annoying, to say the least. It's not one I've come across, can you provide a picture (screen capture) of what it looks like ? My natural instincts would be to try reinstalling OE, with the latest version and patches. Quote
stevevan Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Definitely weird! Never heard of that one! Before reinstalling, first check to make sure you have all of the latest and greatest updates, patches, etc. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 NOt sure I've heard of this before but could possibly be several things. You can try setting your Icons from large to small, you may just have one too many trying to fit in a small space. Or try removing one of the options. Next I would check the default font being used, a proportional font will grow or shrink at different times. Quote
unielco Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Interesting development. When I switched to small icons the icons became smaller but, the space between the icons got larger and actually spread further across the screen. Then I chose to have the text selectively shown next to the icons and the toolbar fit into a much smaller area. This may fix the problem. I am checking now to be sure I have all windows updates. I do believe I do. Hopfully this will solve the problem. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Ron Quote
TCH-JimE Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Hello, Uninstall OE and reinstall it! Or move to other (and better but only in my opinion) email clients like thunderbird JimE Quote
