I use godaddy to redirect my site to TCH on Thurs, Okay that will only take 24 to 72 hours. I'm impatient, but then aren't we all. So I type in the site to see if it has switched yet and of course I'm sure it will take the full 72 hour time frame to occur.

But, the strange part is on my 4th computer I type in the address to my domain as http://**** and it comes up as the page on TCH, but I type it in as ***** and it comes up on the old hosting server I'm switching from. All my other computers show only the old site no matter the combination typed in.

Stranger yet, I log in to my MT blog on TCH since It apparently works on my computer 4 and start configuring all the settings, yet when I go to save them it errors a 404 on me, yet the changes have taken affect when I go back. I press view site and it takes me to my old site on the old hosting service. Yet I open a new browser window, and type in the http://**** and there is the one on TCH.

Weird stuff I must say, I do not understand how that is possible. Any one else experience such a occurence?

Different names have different cache times. If you asked a server for www.****, that

entry gets cached in various name servers. After you changed your domain to point to TCH, using

that name again still gets the cached entries. Asking for your domain by a name that wasn't cached,

e.g. ****, requires that a fresh query be sent back up the DNS tree to the source.

So you get the TCH name for that one.

Hmm, I figured it was some sort of Cache storage going on, Didn't know that's how the DNS ICANN did it's work. But I guess that makes sense as to why they post the 24 to 72 hour statement. It is probably the length of time it takes to refresh its cache storage again, which would contain the new DNS information for the site.
