Cranke Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Hi TCH, I recently purchased the Simple Resellers package to try it out. Everything has been great! Your services are very professional and this forum is extremely helpful. I am very satisfied. My question is this: What is the advantage of buying a Reseller package versus buying multiple Starter hosting plans? I am a web designer that creates sites for many different companies and domain names. I am considering reselling hosting services through you, but I can't seem to justify the cost of buying the Simple Reseller plan (as opposed to buying multiple Starter plans). Here are the Simple Reseller versus Starter plan cost comparisons: - Simple Reseller plan costs approximately 5x Starter plan. - Simple Reseller plan provides approximately 1.5x transfer limit. - Simple Reseller plan provides approximately 2x disk space. Since the Simple Reseller plan costs 5x the Starter plan, but provides less than 5x the resources, I'm wondering why I would bother with the Reseller plan at all. It seems far more economical to buy many Starter plans rather than the Resellers package. Am I missing something here? Is there some advantage the Reseller plan has over multiple basic Starters? Your assistance with this would be most helpful to my business planning. Thanks in advance, /Jeff Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Hi Jeff, welcome to the forums. The plans are set up this way is all. It is your option which plan to purchase. Benefit of the reseller plan. You get the WHM (web host manager) and all of the accounts will be on the same server under your WHM for you to maintain. With the WHM you create your own packages to resell. They don't need to be 450MB/storage and 10GB/bandwidth. You may have 10 clients that only need 50MB/storage and Of course if your customers need the space/bandwidth of the stater hosting offered here then you would be correct it would make more sense to purchase separate plans for each. I have 3 individual plans that would easily fit into a reseller package but I chose to handle them as separate accounts. Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Welcome to the forum Jeff Most sites do not require all that much space so I don't compare the space/bandwidth For me the big advantage is that you have control of all your sites from WHM including getting into a sites cpanel with your login This is helpful if the client changes the password and forgets. You can reset it from WHM. Quote

TCH-Rob Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Welcome to the forums Jeff. I have a reseller package because for me and my ten sites, they all fit into what the space provides me. The management aspect works well for me as well. It all comes down to what you and your customers need. Quote
