gorriedt Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 1) http://www.davegorrie.com 2) DaveGorrie.com - Multimedia Design Etc. 3) I create multimedia design which includes print, web, video, and audio media. I really have done it all, and my client list ranges from Grammy Award winning artists to big corporations, to just good friends of mine. Please check out the website, and let me know if you need anything! Thanks! -Dave 4) Link is on the homepage AND in my weblinks page! 5) I would love to hear what you think for search engine optomization!? I have a basic grasp of how indexing works, but I am currently running my site on PostNuke, and I wonder if it will still work? I've added the nescessary meta-tags/keywords, and tried to make sure they appear in the contents of the website...but I just don't know how the page is indexed? Thanks for any help in advance! Quote
SEO Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Dave you have been added! Would love to see a little rewording on your TCH link... from Hosted by.... to web hosting by... SEO thoughs: Your site is not in the Google Index Why do you have a "/" in all your meta tags? ... content="Multimedia, Etc." /> Actually you have a number of these /> combinations throughout your document, might be a PostNuke thing??? Do not like them, could give a lot of "unknown attribute" errors. ithemes/TrueBlue/images/nav/spacer.gif (404: Not Found) Remove all you blank lines (or at least most). Be sure to include Alt tags on all images. In addition, I would include WIDTH and HEIGHT attributes on all IMG tags. You have several open tags (look at your <align="center"> tags). Cleaner html will make a difference, if a spider comes along and reads a page it will only tolerate a minimal amount of errors. How about this instead: ><title>DaveGorrie.com :: Multimedia, Etc. (Dave Gorrie)</title> <meta name="KEYWORDS" content="Dave Gorrie,David Gorrie, Multimedia Design,Website Design,Graphic Design, print design, " > <meta name="DESCRIPTION" content="Multimedia by Dave Gorrie including website, graphic, print and mutimedia design."> These changes will help (I promise). gorriedt Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 Hey Great, Thanks for the tips! I guess I'm sort of limited in what I can do because of the output of the PostNuke, I'll play a little bit in the code and see what I can (and can't!) do! I've also reworded the link...that was my mistake! I'm also going back and double checking all the other sites I have created to make sure links to my site is on there! Thanks again. -Dave Quote
