New Domain Registration - Action Required?

Hi there,

First, thanks for your responses to my question Friday night - I went ahead and signed up for two TCH accounts to host my two domains, as they will have separate websites on them.

Now that it has been about 70 hours and my domains are still inactive, I am starting to wonder if I did everything right regarding the domain registration. I registered the domains through TCH, and registered two hosting accounts through TCH. Do I need to do anything else?

The welcome email gave instructions for updating the DNS pointers if you are transferring a domain, but didn't say anything about what to do if you registered the domain through TCH (other than to ignore the next section of the letter). I assumed it was just a matter of waiting and everything would be taken care of, but now I am wondering if there was something along those lines (updating DNS pointers) that I was supposed to do.

I know I'm being a bit impatient by not just waiting 2 more hours (for the full 72 hours) to see what happens, but if there is something I need to do, I'd like to go ahead and take care of it tonight. Thanks!!!

You should have had an option somewhere when you were registering the domains to either point them to your TCH account or park them. What were the domain names and we can look and see if the nameservers are set correctly?

They are www.godshaw.org and www.godshaw.com . Thanks for helping me out with this!

I was really uncertain of what I was doing when I was signing up, because I didn't know whether to register the domains first, or sign up for hosting first. I remember seeing that option you mentioned or one like it and being a little frustrated because it seemed like a catch-22 - the domain registration wanted to know who my host was, and the host signup wanted to know what my domain was. All very confusing for my newbie self. B)

From Check DNS:

Testing godshaw.org

Asking root servers about authoritative NS for domain

Got DNS list for 'godshaw.org' from M5.NSTLD.COM

Found NS record: PARK5.SECURESERVER.NET[64.202.164.135], was resolved to IP address by a.gtld-servers.net

Found NS record: PARK6.SECURESERVER.NET[64.202.166.135], was resolved to IP address by wsc1.jomax.NET

Looks like they are both parked. You need to go to the Domain Regostration Page and Log in and change the nameservers to the ones in your welcome email. Let us know if you have any problems.

Ah - I had a feeling I'd done something wrong. Went in and made the changes - now another 24-72 hours of waiting. Patience is definitely not the least of the things I'm learning throughout this process. :) Thanks so much for your help!
