Samrc Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 In the past when using Windows I could put a shortcut to my recycle bin in my SEND TO context menu. I told someone about it this morning and it does not seem to work for Windows XP. The shortcut is in my send to folder, but will not appear when I right click on a document. Any ideas???? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Add the copy/paste/delete buttons to your Windows Explorer window and just highlight the file(s) and press the big red "X". Or use the delete key on the keyboard. Quote
Samrc Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 That's already available and known. What started it was a discussion about a TIP in some newsletter about dragging the file to the taskbar, holding it there while all windows minimize then moving the file you are holding into the recycle bin on the desktop. I told the person that was nice but to much a time waster for me. The old send to is preferable....but hten it did not work in XP. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I tried adding a shortcut to the recycle bin to my send to menu and it doesn't even appear as an option when I right click and select send to. Quote
TCH-Mark Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hello, I think the reason it won't go into the send menu is when you right click on a file you get the option to delete it which sends it to the Recycle Bin anyway. Quote
Samrc Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 Yes. You can delete it so it is not necessary to have the recycle bin in the send to menu. I was just surprised that the send to menu would not show it in XP when in previous versions it would. Quote
