moogie Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 When I go to my site and look at the comments, all is well until I click on the name of the commentor and I get this error msg: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /mt/mt-comments.cgi on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? This has never happened before. TCH-Mark Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Hello, There is no quick fix as this could be happening for a number of reasons, first one is check that you have chmod the file to 755 (this can be done in the file manager or in your FTP client) and if that doesn't work have a look at the error log in your control panel as that may contain important information as to what the problem is. If you get stuck even after doing those two things submit a support ticket and someone will check this out for you. Welcome To The Forums BTW Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Welcome to the forums Moogie I tried clicking the names in your comments and it appears to be working for me. Did you fix it? If so please post what you did in case any of our other users experience the problem. Quote
TCH-Don Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Welcome to the forums Moogie works for me too. Quote
CodeSlinger Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Actually, the path look wrong to me. "/mt/mt-comments.cgi"? Shouldn't there be at least a "cgi-bin" in there somewhere? Quote
moogie Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Thank you so much for the welcome. I cannot tell you how much valuable information I have already found here in such a short visit. As for my problem, I did get it fixed. I ended up in the live chat area as I really didn't know if this was the proper place to ask this question. Aparently, it was the filter settings. The guy who helped me (he was fantastic btw) told me that it was something that he needed to fix on his end and it was nothing that I had done. Again, thanks so much for the welcome. I will be coming back soon and often. Quote
