hurai Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 It seems that your ftp server (ProFTPD) doesn't support resuming of file transfers. I have tried using several ftp clients (CuteFTP, WS_FTP, and SmartFTP) all with the same results, I get the message back from the server saying "Append/Restart not permitted, try again.". Can you enable this feature please? Thanks for your help! - Hurai domain: hurai.com server: server17 Quote
TCH-Rick Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 Your statement is not completely true. Our servers don't support resuming ftp uploads but they do support resuming ftp downloads. It is possible for misuse of uploading and as a result resuming ftp uploads is by default turned off in the ftp server software. I have hosted here since January and have uploaded some pretty large files and never had any problems (other than the frustrating cap my ISP puts on upload speeds.) I actually had to test and insure that ftp download resume was possible since I don't ever recall having to use it. If you are having problems with uploads you should check and be sure you are using passive mode. Quote
