saurus1234 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 ive purchased my domain name and hosting thru tch. Received my welcome email and web address (sunnymom.com) When I attempt to access my site it points to the index page. By looking thru the forums I feel i have to point my dns to the correct ones. However I don't know how to do this. I see a lot of info on going to your registrar and changing it there but tch is my registrar and I'm not sure how to access my account. Im a new at this so be gentle. Thanks for the help Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 You need to access this link and login with the name you created when purchasing the domain name. This is different from the hosting login information. But a quick check and your domain is pointing to the correct name servers already. You need to upload your content to your web space now. You can do that with an FTP client or by logging into cPanel and using the File Manager. Welcome to the forums! Quote

saurus1234 Posted December 26, 2005 Author Posted December 26, 2005 I have tried uploading content to the public_html folder but when i type in my web address it still comes up as the index page. Do I need to change something to get to my web page instead of the index page. Again thanks for the help. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 welcome to the forums You need to rename your main page to "index.htm" and make sure it's in the public_html directory. Quote
saurus1234 Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 your advice helped! Its working Thanks! Quote
stevevan Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you got it working. And to piggy-back on what Andy said, you can name it either index.htm or index.html...either will work. Once you get a little more comfortable, maybe you can try some php pages! As always, the family is here for you! Quote
