chadf Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I'm not too crazy about Nemail or Horde. Are there any squirrelmail users who would strongly recommend it? It sounds like it could be a real hassle to install, so I don't want to go to all the trouble for nothing. - Chad Quote
rayners Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I don't claim to be much of a SquirrelMail user, but what I have used I did like. And the install really isn't much of a hassle. Unpack the archive, edit the config file, double check permissions, and viola! Quote
Larry Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I like it, I installed it because my job blocks every webmail site in exsistance, and only allows port 80 to go through.. so i couldnt use the built in email clients.. Quote
KevinW Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 TCH provides some info on installing SquirrelMail - click here A possible alternative, especially when traveling, is Mail2Web - click here -kw Quote
Larry Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 mail2web is definitly nice, it's what I used before my company blocked webmail.. I used to recommend it to our customers before we had our own webmail.. Quote
darkwoof Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Neomail is quite okay. Horde is pretty good, extremely full featured. However, it may be slower loading (due to the extensive features provided probably) and only works on port 2095. SquirrelMail's the recommended alternative here. It is quite full-featured, and very easy to install and easy to use. I've installed it on my account but I don't like its user interface that much. (I'm fussy that way ) It should satisfy most people though. There are lots of people that can help you out on the forum if you need further help, give it a try! Quote
