queenpictoria Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Hello. My email is not working on a couple of my email boxes. I have sent a trouble ticket, and they told me to check my Cpanel and see where three of my email boxes have exceeded their allocated space (usually 10 mb each). Would exceeded space usage cause emails to not be received? I was told I could monitor that on my Cpanel, but it is not evident to me. If anybody knows, I'd appreciate it. Happy Holidays! Thank you, queepictoria Quote
TCH-Rick Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 As mentioned in the Help Desk ticket you can view the quotas that are set for the account under the mail options. Log into your cPanel. Once in cpanel select mail option. Once in there you will see the option Manage/Add/Remove Accounts. In manage accounts you will see all your mail accounts listed. At the bottom of that scree you will see an option Show Disk Space Used. Click on that link and you will see the disk space used for each account and the quota that is set up. You can also increase the disk quota. If you have the Spam Box option enabled you can clear the spam box under the Spam Assassin options. This is another common reason for accounts being over quota. stevevan Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Think of it as your "snail mail" box being crammed with letters. The postman wouldn't be able to deliver any more mail until you cleaned out all of the bills, magazines, junk mail, etc. Same principle. Quote
queenpictoria Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 Thanks for your help. I wish I could know more about things like this before they happen. I'll take some time and revue the cpanel and my email. I've been very upset about this, and it is just a fear of losing clients. They haven't been able to reach me or sent me emails I didn't know about. Then they wonder what's up with me. Your tech support is very helpful. queenpictoria Quote
stevevan Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 I hope you don't lose any of your clients. We all (well, most of us anyway! ) learned things like this the hard way. (At least, I did!) Quote
