bshirl Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hello all, I've started to get quite a few bogus emails that say something like "I've added you to my address book" Using outlook, I try to designate them as junk but an error comes back that the email address or domain is invalid. If someone would take pity on a newbie and help me decipher this greek below to come up with a course of action/plan of attack, I would be eternally grateful. thanks, brent Return-path: <nobody@server51.totalchoicehosting.com> Envelope-to: brent@mytchdomain.com Delivery-date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 01:02:18 -0400 Received: from advkslid by server51.totalchoicehosting.com with local-bsmtp (Exim 4.52) id 1EUzu5-0005er-JL for brent@mytchdomain.com; Thu, 27 Oct 2005 01:02:17 -0400 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.1.0 (2005-09-13) on server51.totalchoicehosting.com X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-0.0 required=5.0 tests=NO_RELAYS autolearn=ham version=3.1.0 Received: from nobody by server51.totalchoicehosting.com with local (Exim 4.52) id 1EUzu5-0005em-HO for brent@mytchdomain.com; Thu, 27 Oct 2005 01:02:17 -0400 To: brent@mytchdomain.com Subject: New guestbook entry From: <dustin> chris@someisp.com X-Mailer: Advanced Guestbook 2 Message-Id: <E1EUzu5-0005em-HO@server51.totalchoicehosting.com> Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 01:02:17 -0400 EDIT by TCH-Rob: Removed email addresses to protect against spammers. Madmanmcp Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 After taking a quick look at the email and your website, I would take a wild guess and say those are emails from your guestbook. If you look at the email and date it was sent and then look at your guestbook. The last entry there matches the email you posted here. So, look in you setup of your guestbook and turn off the auto-email feature and those emails will stop. Quote
bshirl Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Wow, I feel like an idiot. I would kick myself in the backside if only I could reach. Thanks for showing me what was right there & I couldn't see. I'm spamming myself, dangit!
