from a help ticket:

<<I understand that there is no mail account friends@redo.net in your domain, but you have a forwarder set for this account to an existing account jim@redo.net.

But Please note that for this forwarding to work properly you need to have the account friends@redo.net or a catch all set to a valid mail address. So please create a mail account friends@redo.net.>>

what is the point of setting up an email account in order for a forward to work? i don't understand this answer... anyone?

(email adds have been changed, these are not the real ones)

I may be confused here, but unless something has changed, it should work with no account and just the forwarder passing the data to a valid account. I will wait though to make sure I am not missing something. Hang tight for a few for a complete answer.

OK, the official response is that you do NOT need an actual account for the forwarder to work. While I am not sure who informed you of this and I do not want it posted in the forums. You might want to PM it to TCH-Dick so the tech can be informed.

While it is rare, we do make mistakes in our responses, and me more so than others. Is the issue something we can assist with here in the forums? If not, you might want to re-open it and refer to this thread to get proper resolution.
