yyk Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 is the bandwidth allocation amount a monthly allocation amount or is it for the whole year? if it is a monthly allocation, what is the excess charged at? do you support movabletype (the blogging software)? if more space is required, is it possible to purchase more? if so what is the cost? do you allow for ssh logins? do you have dedicated ip addresses? thanks also, i found it incredibly hard to find an email address to email these questions to someone in sales. i didn't really want to post these questions on the forums. i had to use the sitemap to hit the "contact us" page as it kept sending me to the status page via the flash menu (i'm using firefox) and then when i tried to submit these questions online, i was unable to as i did not have a cpanel login and therefore unable to create a ticket - seemed very silly for "pre-sales"!!! TCH-Bruce Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Welcome to the forums yyk The bandwidth is monthly. You can purchase more bandwidth or upgrade to a different plan at anytime by opening a help desk ticket to support. You can see the prices of the plans and addons by clicking here More bandwidth is $2.50/gb (bottom of above link) More disk space is $1.75/per 100mb (bottom of above link) No shell access is allowed on any of the shared servers. You will have a shared ip address. You could use the help desk by entering N/A in those fields. Quote
TweezerMan Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Welcome to the forums. yyk! TCH does not officially support any third-party scripts (including Movable Type), but the servers are certainly capable of running Movable Type. Quote
MikeJ Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Just to elaborate a little on what was already said... Dedicated IP's are available for the purpose of SSL. Any other request for a dedicated IP will have to go through the help desk to see if it's something TCH will accomodate (but in most cases, the answer will likely be no). As for Movable Type, we don't support the package itself, but we do support users running it. We have numerous Movable Type users on our servers. You are responsible for installing it and configuring it. Quote
