ztrauq Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 Does TCH support (or even allow) some type of audio streaming from its servers? if so, what protocol does it use? If not, does anyone know of any free streaming-type scripts/programs that could be loaded onto a TCH account? TCH Stones Quote
TCH-JimE Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 Hi, Whilst we allow streaming, remember it will eat into your bandwidth like there is no tomorrow. Standard methods/protocols. Jim Quote
boxturt Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 I stream both Real Audio and mp3 without a problem. Bandwidth can be an issue. Real Audio files are much smaller. Quote
Singer Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 I had been under the impression from a reply to a post I made about a month ago or so that streaming was only available on dedicated servers or somesuch. (My memory may be a little faulty.) Would someone be able to clarify this? If it is possible to stream on the non-dedicated accounts, what are the standard methods and protocols (I'm not familiar with them)? Thanks! Quote
boxturt Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 I'm on a non-dedicated server and as I mentioned, have no problem streaming audio. If you want to let me know what format you're using for your audio files I'd be happy to lend you a hand. Ty Quote
