TCH-Thomas Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Hi Anna, If your domain have propagated, please try https://your-tch-hosted-domain.com:2083 If it have not propagated, please try http://XXXX/cpanel where XXXX represent the ip number listed in your welcome email. Quote
AnnasAttic Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 Thanks for putting proper place didn't see it yesterday. OK I have tried any and all combinations. Still no cpanel Should I just wait till domain propagates? TIA Anna Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Hello Anna, May I ask what your domain name is? Quote
AnnasAttic Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 annasattic.us the # in email was 2082 Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 The domain seems to have propagated and thats good. I assume that you have a firewall, so I would try to see if that blocks the ports that are mentioned in the welcome email. How this is done is different from firewall to firewall, so check its help files or ask here in the forum if someone knows. There´s alot of knowledge collected in the forum, so hang tight and this will be solved. As for why I said port 2083 is because its secure. Quote
AnnasAttic Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 ok thanks Where should I ask about the firewall? I'm using Opera Quote
TCH-Andy Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 If you are on a company account, the company probably has a firewall set up (and you will need to talk to them). If this is your computer at home, there could be a firewall in the router, and one in your operating system (for example SP2 of windows XP includes a firewall). Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Did you try http://XXXX/cpanel where XXXX represent the ip number listed in your welcome email as Thomas suggested ? Your domain was just updated on the 26th it my not have propagated for you at your home yet through your ISP. Quote
AnnasAttic Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 Ok I'm on home laptop wind98 and I can't find any firewall on it. Think it used to have Norton on it . Could it be something about Opera? IE crashes this poor thing ever time I try toopen. Quote
TweezerMan Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 What happens when you try to browse to http://annasattic.us/cpanel? IE crashes this poor thing ever time I try to open. You may have bigger problems than trying to access your CPanel. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Hi Anna, You say Think it used to have Norton on it . Can you have a look in your startmenu if there is something named Norton internet security or Norton personal firewall or similar. This will help us to help you configuring it. If you do not have a firewall, there is a popular one called Zone Alarm. Also, have you checked if you have any viruses or trojans etc? A good place to check this is McAfee Freescan. Downside is that you need Internet Explorer to run it. Apart from that, if you don´t use it already, download, install and run: Spybot Search & Destroy and Adaware Quote
AnnasAttic Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 OK Don't have anything with Norton and no firewall got zone alarm run McAfee-had JS/Seeker.u (got patch from MS) Installed Spybot Can I sent zone to allow 2082? Or is that wishful thinking? Still unable to access cpanel. Going to Adaware now. Thanks for all the help. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 What happens when you try to browse to http://annasattic.us/cpanel? What kind of error message are you getting? You say you cannot access cPanel, but specifically what kind of error is it? Page not found? Quote
