natimage Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Hello, I added my link to the Family page quite a while back...when that last contest took place. I'm having multiple problems where Google is concerned, but I'm not worried about it too much right now because I will soon revamp my whole site. I'm sure I have issues that are causing me to fall off the index! However, when I type in my url, Google asks if I want to see pages that contain my url. Only two pages come up...the TCH Family page is not one of them. I actually have a few inbound links that aren't showing up there. Is there a logical reason for this that I am just not seeing? Thanks for the help! Tracy Quote
SEO Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 Is there a logical reason for this that I am just not seeing? There is a reason but I am not sure it is 'logical'. This last Google dance (which ended 5/25) was very strange. It took an exceptionally long time and the results are quite strange. One result looks like they have regressed back to an old index.... this would explain noticeable lack of backlinks that many people have seen. There was talk that this dance was going to be different (major tweaking of the algorithm). My theory is that they had some problems (major) and that is why they had to regress to old data. Do not read anything negative in that statement... I love Google . The fact that they are always experimenting, changing, improving, etc. is one reason why. This should all work out within the next dance (approx. one month). Quote
natimage Posted May 27, 2003 Author Posted May 27, 2003 alrighty, then...I'll remain hopeful. Thank you for all your wonderful knowledge!! By the way...how do you know when Google finishes a "dance", as you put it?? Have a good evening! Tracy Quote
