FairTaxIndiana Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Hi fellow TCH'ers, I'm webmastering the FairTax grassroots volunteer website for Indiana at FairTaxIndiana.net and was wondering if there's anyway that a registered user of our website could sign up for their own email account? As a volunteer run website for the national organization FairTax.org if our users could have their own email addresses it would go a long way to help advertise the FairTax Act by just using the emails alone. We still have less than 100 registrants so I could probably manually make an email for someone myself but with the release of the bestselling FairTax Book we're getting more and more registrations so I'd like to hopefully get this process automated. I'd appreciate any help, and also some time spent reading our material as once this is passed it is going to help everybody including TCH, but we can discuss this in a different forum. Appreciate the help. Sincerely, Tom Leser FairTax IN Ast. State Director Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Welcome to the forums Tom I am not aware of any automated e-mail sign ups but would be careful of spammers signing up if you find a way. Quote
stevevan Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Welcome to the forums. I'd do a google search to see if something is out there. I'd also keep Don's caution at the forefront of any program you decide on. Quote
TweezerMan Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Welcome to the forums, Tom! I'm aware of only one script that allows automatic creation of e-mail accounts, and it is banned on TCH servers. As others have mentioned, the ability to automatically create e-mail accounts is something that is very prone to abuse. Quote
Deverill Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 It's a manual process but a new thing Google is doing with their Gmail product is allowing you to use alternate From: lines. You *could* tell them to get a Gmail account and apply to use theirname@yourTCHdomainname and Gmail will fire off an email to you that you could approve and then they could use that -- but it is very risky because of the spammer problem. If nothing else you can have them use one of the many free emails - Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc, etc... then you can let those guys worry about the spammers BTW, welcome! Quote
