queenpictoria Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 In doing research into engine submissions and such, I have come across the term "Link Farm". What is a "Link Farm"? How many links does it take to make a "Link Farm"? Perhaps I am too enthusiastic about my affiliate banners...???? I want to learn to practice prudence. Thanks, queenpictoria Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 In short, a link farm is a page or pages of links that consists almost entirely of a long list of unrelated links. Quote

Queen Pictoria's Menagerie The links are all related, but it was my first effort at laying out banners. I wanted to make it easy for anyone buying pet supplies to find what they need. Is it too much? Thanks very much, queenpictoria Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 April, As they are related, I would say that it was not a link farm. Just my personal opinion though. One of our more SEO knowledgeable members might have a more reliable answer though. Quote
Deverill Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_farm) has a definition of link farm that may clear it up a bit for you. In essence, you'd have to have far more links to be considered a link farm... yours is more of a "link flower box" No more links than you have and the fact that they are all related somewhat makes it a non-issue for search engines. Just look at a lot of the links pages for other sites... there are normally 10-30 (my best guess) links in a "Other web sites to visit" kind of page. No, you're fine with your page as it is. Quote
