cajunman4life Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Hey guys, I'm a bit confused. I got an email from root@server82 (I have an account on that server) that says I need to upgrade my phpbb installation to 2.0.17 (which I already have... a long time ago in fact). Just was wondering why that happened... and to let you know, so my account won't be disabled or anything because I have an "out of date" phpbb installation. Thanks guys! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 The email was to go to anyone running a phpBB installation to remind them to be sure they are running the current version of the board. Quote
cajunman4life Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 I was just confused as to why it said I specifically need to upgrade my version of phpbb... I think I may have figured it out through... I'll let you know. Quote

My site is powered by Xoops. I assume this message has been sent to everyone on server 106. Fred, The Netherlands Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 welcome to the forum Fred If you ever installed phpbb in cpanel just to try, then cpanel remembers that. As long as you are sure you have no phpbb installed you can ignore the message. I looked at my files and discovered an install I had made myself and forgot, so I upgraded it. Remember any one upgrading log into your admin > config and change the default styles back to sub-silver first, then upgrade following the instructions in the upgrade files at thephpbb site. Quote
cajunman4life Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 Alright, I've got it all figured out. I installed phpBB through cpanel (when the cpanel version was still 2.0.11) but I upgraded it manually. So cpanel still thought I had 2.0.11, when in reality I already had 2.0.17. So I removed it through cpanel (after backing up my important files of course) and I'm now in the process of installing it manually, and then I will restore my db. Should take care of the issue Quote
