abinidi Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Ok. Here's my deal. I want to have an email alias forward to two different email addresses. I'm guessing that there are two ways you could potentially do this. First, you could set up two separate forwarding commands. Second, you could add two addresses in the Forwards To box (separated by commas or something). Which is the "right way"? I thought that you had to set up two separate forwarding commands, but I've set this up, and twice now one of the commands has disappeared. I'll set up both forwarders, aned they both work. But then a couple of days later, I'll come back and find that the second one has disappeared. It is no longer listed in the list of forwarders. What could be causing this to happen? Why would a forwarder simply disappear? Should I switch, and use option 2, outlined above, instead? This is causing my mother-in-law stress. This is not a good thing!! Quote
GroovyFish Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 (edited) The one that disappears doesn't happen to be an AOL account does it? Forwarders to AOL are not allowed. There is a thread around here about that... let me see if I can find it. Here it is http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...showtopic=16053 Edited August 8, 2005 by GroovyFish Quote

I enter the email addresses in the Forward To box ,separated by commas, and once I save and go back to the forwarder page I will see them all listed as separate forwards. Quote

That makes a ton of sense. I totally forgot about that! One more reason my mother-in-law needs to switch from AOL.... Geeez. Thanks!! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 To get it to the AOL account, forward it to gmail and then from gmail forward it to AOL. It's worked in the past for some. Quote
abinidi Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Thanks, Bruce. That is the best option. I was having the email address forward to my gmail account, and to her AOL account. So I just set up a filter in my gmail account so that all incoming messages to <forwarder@****> were forwarded to her AOL account. Thanks for your help everybody! I remember the AOL message back in January, but I didn't pay attention because I didn't ever plan on forwarding to AOL.... Hmmm.... Quote
