wbrown338 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Greetings: Does TCH support or plan to support python scripting. I have found the syntax very easy to read and understand. I am hosting with TCH and would like to offer python as a scripting language option. Do any guru's have comments on this? Thanks. Quote
MikeJ Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 TCH already supports Python scripting as CGI. We only do not provide mod_python. Quote
wbrown338 Posted August 3, 2005 Author Posted August 3, 2005 Greetings: What is the path to the python library so I can use it in my pages? Thanks. Quote
wbrown338 Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Greetings: Do python scripts have to be in cgi-bin/, or can they be placed anywhere within the website? I am writing a few custom scripts for a client of mine and the scripts are written in python. Thanks. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 The servers are configured for you to run scripts from any folder in your domain. Quote
agroamer Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I am looking at CVS that says you need python to run it. Is this supported. I'm actually trying to figure out a checkin/checkout system for various people who are developing on the same website. We keep overwriting htmls that other people made with earlier versions. Any ideas. Thanks much! Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 It looks like Mike has already answered this question above. Quote
agroamer Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 oh, okay sorry about that. I didn't know that python and python scripting were the same thing. Now I know. Thanks Quote
lukeman037 Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I'm wondering if there is a plan to upgrade Python? I see that Python 2.2 is what I've got, but I've been dying to try out a Python based wiki engine that looks absolutely wonderful but requires Python 2.3 (2.4 is recommended). Any news on this? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Welcome to the forums Lukeman. You need to ask this question through the help desk. The mods here are volunteers and don't have access to the servers or that information. Quote
lukeman037 Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Thanks Bruce and Thomas. I had no idea you all were volunteers. Well thanks for your efforts and I'll go ahead and get on over to the Help Desk. Quote
