Photo Album Software

I must be freaking stupid...

 

I've tried to install all these "Easy to Install" photo albums like Coppermill & Gallery, and I'm just too dumb to do it! I need a photo album software for our campagin website (www.Gale2006.com), it doesn't need to be fancy, all I really want it something I can send it to and it will automatically resize it so it doesn't take 20 hours for the page to load...

I'm leaving town for the weekend (it is a State holiday weekend in Utah, so I won't be back until Tuesday), but if you post the kinds of problems you are having with your Coppermine installation, I'm sure we can help you overcome them. I just started using Coppermine a couple of months ago, and it was intimidating at first, but now I really like it.

 

So tell us what kinds of problems you are having, and see if we can help. (If you want to PM me, I'll get back to you on Tuesday).

Actually, between the tutorial that Thomas shared and the documentation on Coppermine's site, it's rather painless. The only problem that _I_ have is that I have a tendency to get ahead of the documentation thinking I know what to expect. (That's when I get into trouble! )

 

Just take it step by step and it's a piece of cake!

 

One other thing I tho't of that I do on many occasions. Have some paper next to the computer and write down each step you perform and what you did. That will help in troubleshooting or if you have to install it again. I've got a small folder of program installs that I've done and, yes, I have had to refer to it a few times!

Yes do keep notes of what you did,

even what did not.

A notebook like that will help with other instals in the future.
