Using my account mail I get this error - Whats the fix??

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Server: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 24, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I had this problem with a friend of mine but I have searched this forum Hi and Low and can't find the post that had the answer.

Thanks for any help

Just tried it at 26 and it still is not working:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: Lee, I like your site', Account: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Server: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

Thanks

The first error message said Outlook Express was trying to contact the mail server on port 24. Assuming that's not just a typo, the port number is incorrect - it should be port 25.

David you are correct it was 25 and I tried 24, I new it was changed when I had this problem awaile back and thought it was 24 instead of 26.

With 25 I get this error

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: Lee, I like your site', Account: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Server: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

If you have tried with port 25 and port 26 and it still gives errors your ISP may be blocking both ports.

You could always set up the outgoing mail server for your account to your ISP. I have done that when this occurs and it works fine.

Thanks for the help guys but I have to go to my grandsons birthday party, 2 years old tomorrow. Will check later tonight and check with my ISP.

Thanks again as always you are great.
