GroovyFish Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Hi Lee, Have you tried changing your port to 26? Quote
LeeGoldsmith Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 Just tried it at 26 and it still is not working: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: Lee, I like your site', Account: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Server: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B Thanks Lee Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Do you have the SSL box checked under the SMTP port? If so, uncheck it. Quote
LeeGoldsmith Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 Bruce it is already enchecked. Any other ideas?? Lee Quote
TweezerMan Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 The first error message said Outlook Express was trying to contact the mail server on port 24. Assuming that's not just a typo, the port number is incorrect - it should be port 25. Quote
LeeGoldsmith Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 David you are correct it was 25 and I tried 24, I new it was changed when I had this problem awaile back and thought it was 24 instead of 26. With 25 I get this error An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: Lee, I like your site', Account: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Server: 'mail.loonsecho.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B Lee Quote
GroovyFish Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Is this something that just started happening? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 If you have tried with port 25 and port 26 and it still gives errors your ISP may be blocking both ports. You could always set up the outgoing mail server for your account to your ISP. I have done that when this occurs and it works fine. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 I echoo Bruce. I have the same problem with my isp. Quote
LeeGoldsmith Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 Thanks for the help guys but I have to go to my grandsons birthday party, 2 years old tomorrow. Will check later tonight and check with my ISP. Thanks again as always you are great. Lee Quote
