OldTimer Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 (edited) I have a folder that is at www.mysite.com/whatever If I want to move all the contents of /whatever to my main (root) site www.mysite.com so that will now be my main entry to my site, is there anything special that I have to do? Also considering that their is a database involved with the /whatever folder? Hope that was clearer then mud. Greg Edited July 5, 2005 by OldTimer Quote
TCH-Rob Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I think the fastest way would be to download via FTP to your computer and then upload those files to root. If you have several files it can take a while using cPanel. As far as I know it should make no difference the location of the requesting files in relation to the database as used on our servers. AlanV Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 You can also use FTP to move files directly from /subdirectory to root, which might be quicker than downloading everything and re-uploading. And I agree... moving the location of a script requesting a database shouldn't cause any problems (just make sure the script's location is updated in any configuration files). Quote
