Hi everyone,

 

I have a few questions concerning upgrading/downgrading a webhosting account.

 

1. How easy is it to upgrade/downgrade a plan? On the Billing Issues FAQ (http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/billingpage.htm), it only talks about upgrading plans. Does everything apply to downgrading plans as well?

 

2. How long does it take for the upgrading/downgrading to take effect? It says on the FAQ that you no longer do proratings and therefore it is advised that we do it at the end of the billing cycle. If we upgrade/downgrade in the middle of the billing cycle, does the change take effect immediately, even tho we would still be billed for the existing plan the remaining of the cycle, or does the change of plans only take place at the start of the next billing cycle?

 

3. On the FAQ, it says:

The "Head Guru" special does not apply to existing customers. The free month is only an option to new clients or new domains. Cancelling your plan and signing up again also will not entitle you to a free month.

If we sign up for a monthly account, but one month later, we upgrade to a yearly account, are we still considered a new client? or do we have to sign up for a yearly account right from the beginning to get the free month?

You can upgrade or downgrade your account as needed. It will take place at the beginning of the next month of your billing cycle.

 

As for will you get the special if you sign up for a month I'm not sure and someone else will have to answer. But you could always sign up for the year to begin with and you still have 30 days to cancel and get your money back.

 

Or you could contact the Billing office by phone during business hours and get a definitive answer.

One more question:

 

Do u know if we sign up for the year plan, and then up/downgrade the plan a few months into the year, are we only billed for the remaining of the year and not extended for another 12 months from the up/downgrade?

If you sign up for a month then you are not a new customer

and not eligible for the special later.

 

For the others questions contact billing as Bruce mentioned.

Wow, everyone seems so nice and personable here! A friend refered me to TCH a few days ago and I've been browsing the TCH site and the forums for a coupla days. Everything & everyone seems to be great! I can't wait to start my own website. I just have no clue whatsoever on how to build one or even HTML and how everything works. I just bought a book (and the forums are helpful too)...hopefully I'll be able to start soon! Lookin' forward to joining! =) :)
