Lisety Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I have a directory website and really need something better than Awstats so I can show clients (and myself) how many times their resort was clicked on, what keywords from which search engines, etc. Another forum I belong to suggested that Urchin and ClickTracks were the best and had the most information. Is there any chance you guys are considering getting a better package to offer us? Or do you have any other ideas for me? Thanks, Lisety Quote
TCH-Andy Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Hi Lisety, There are a whole range of stats / tracking packages available, at a range of prices, including those you mention. The problem becomes what package offers the best all round stats for everyone here. We had a survey a while back, and most people vited for AWstats. There are no plans to change that. Having said that, you can still use alternative packages, either downloading the raw log file for analysis, or using scripting on the server - with a package that best fits your requirements. Quote
Lisety Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Thanks Bruce. I had a little trouble finding what I thought was the best area to post, thanks for moving it Anybody else out there using TCH and found a good, inexpensive solution to better stats for those of us who need more in depth reporting? Deverill Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Welcome to the forums. As Andy said, you can download your raw log file and use anything to analyze it. I've not used anything more than AWStats for my own needs but many "big boys" use WebTrends. I don't know if they have a "lite" version but the full package is pretty expensive. You could try a search engine for "web site stats" or some similar phrasing to find lots of options. Quote
