Dumplin Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Ok I just made a change to one of my pages......it's not the index but the next one which used to be my home page.....anyway all I wanted to do was add a new link to a blog and uploaded the wrong page so now all the old graphics buttons with links to the internal pages are gone. I am in the process of converting the site over by hand from Page Builder to Frontpage and I had not messed with this page yet and now I can't find the orig copy.....I looked in cPanel and all the content is there. Now my question is, is there a way to go back to the way it was yesterday? If not I will have to download all the files in the Public Folder and put the page back together. The time I made the change was around 745pm Thanks for any help Quote
Deverill Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 You can request a backup restore from the Help Desk techs. It may not be from today but it shouldn't be too old either. At all times, but especially when converting/upgrading your website, a backup is highly recommended. You can find the backup option in your Cpanel which will make a file on your account with everything in it. They are like American Express - don't leave home without them. Quote
TCH-Don Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 You could goto cpanel > backup and download the home back up (not the full one) so you have all the files from right now in a compressed file. Then open a help ticket and ask if they can restore your files from the most recent backup. Then if you need to you can re-upload pages that are newer from your own backup. Quote

Dumplin Posted May 30, 2005 Author Posted May 30, 2005 TCH is the best....within 30 mins of sending my help ticket in, my page was restored......now that's damn good service, and I put a low priority on it. A online friend just got a domain and hosting with TCH and he was very impressed with the backup program and all the other goodies. Thanks Rick I am very happy now and before I was looking at spending a couple hours at least redoing that page.....it's actually the main entry point to my site and has several jumps to other areas.
